Privacy Notice

This translation is provided for reference. The Spanish version is the legally binding privacy notice.

1. Who is responsible for your data

Operadora Turística MATIE S.A. de C.V. ("MATIE Adventures"), with address at calle Bruno Martínez 203, colonia Victoria de Durango Centro, 34000 Victoria de Durango, Durango, Mexico, is responsible for processing your personal data under Mexico's Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP).

2. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you contact us (website, quote builder, site chat, online purchase, WhatsApp, Instagram or forms), we may collect:

Minors: when the traveler is a minor, their data is processed with the consent of their mother, father or legal guardian, whose data we also collect for that purpose.

3. What we use your data for

Purposes necessary to provide the service:

Additional purposes (you can opt out without affecting the service):

If you don't want us to use your data for these additional purposes, write to us atprivacidad@matietours.com. On WhatsApp or Instagram you can also ask us anytime to stop sending you promotions.

4. Our virtual assistant

On WhatsApp, Instagram and the site chat, the MATIE Assistant attends to you first: a virtual assistant that automatically replies with information about our trips and gives you prices calculated by our system. To understand and answer your messages, the assistant uses an artificial intelligence service, and another one to transcribe the voice notes you send. Your conversations are kept to follow up with you. If you tell it that something isn't working or give it a suggestion, it logs it in our improvements inbox. You can ask to speak with a person on our team at any time.

5. Who we share your data with

To operate, we rely on providers that process your data on our behalf and only for the purposes of this notice. Some are located outside Mexico, mainly in the United States:

Business partners and sponsors: only if you give us your authorization, by checking the corresponding box when contracting, do we share your name and contact details with our business partners and sponsors, so they can offer you products, services or benefits related to your trips. It's voluntary, it doesn't change your service in any way, and you can withdraw your authorization anytime by writing toprivacidad@matietours.com. Minors' data is never shared with business partners or sponsors.

We don't sell your data. Outside these providers and the partners you authorize, we only share it with the providers of your trip's services (airline, hotel, transportation, insurer and events) to the extent necessary to deliver them, or when an authority requires it by law.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use essential cookies for the site to work and, from the moment you arrive, analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) and advertising cookies (Meta and Google Ads). We let you know when you arrive, and in "Manage preferences" you can turn off measurement, advertising, or both: whatever you turn off, we stop using, we delete what was already stored in your browser, and we also stop sending your data to Meta from our servers. If you visit us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we don't use them until you accept.

Microsoft Clarity anonymously records how the site is navigated: clicks, scrolling and cursor movement, to understand where people get stuck. It doesn't record what you type: form fields, payment details and any text you enter appear masked in those recordings. None of this happens if you reject cookies. You can change your decision anytime from the cookie preferences button, in the bottom corner of the site.

7. Your ARCO rights

You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it, Cancel it, or Object to its processing (ARCO rights), as well as to revoke your consent or limit the use of your data. To exercise these rights, write to us atprivacidad@matietours.com with your name, the right you want to exercise, and a copy of your ID. We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days.

8. How long we keep your data

For as long as you have an active contract with us and, after that, for as long as tax and commercial laws require. The conversations of those who don't end up contracting are kept to follow up with them and are deleted when you request it.

9. Changes to this notice

Any change to this privacy notice will be published on this same page, with its update date.
